The Lompoc Valley Art Association’s Cypress Gallery will be featuring "Color Connections!", an artist show by Chris Jeszeck.   The show will be on exhibit from July 2-July 25, 2021.

Chris is practically a California native, having grown up in Southern California. Moving to Lompoc with her husband John and family in 1987 was one of the best decisions of her life. Inspiration for creating art is resplendent in this area of the central coast.

“For over 40 years, I've spent as much time as possible learning and experimenting with various forms of art, including drawing and painting. I can't say that I have a particular style or vision and that's the way I like it.  I enjoy being a student, stretching myself to try new techniques and approaches. While I am partial to detail, I also find myself mesmerized by abstraction. Above all, I am attracted to color.

As we all know, color plays a vitally important role in the world in which we live.  Color selection and placement can affect feelings, attention, behavior and learning.  For example, green improves concentration (an actor's "green room").  Orange is a mood lifter, a vibrant color that demands attention.  Blue is shown to increase productivity, and so on.  Placing color upon a canvas can convey a mood and provoke feelings in the viewer and hopefully a connection to the art itself.

If I have one goal with my art and the use of color, it would be to make the viewer smile. Whether it be through an addition of realism to a piece of abstract art, a charming pet portrait or simply the use of bright color, I feel fulfilled when I can bring a bit of joy to whomever takes the time to look at my art”.

Please come by and check out the show and meet the artist.  The Cypress Gallery is at 119 East Cypress Avenue, Lompoc, across from the Museum.
